In 2010, Michael founded Monopole with a vision for it to become a leading distributor of fine wines. With more than two decades of business intelligence and local trade experience, he spearheaded growth for the brands the company exclusively distributes in Singapore. He strongly believes in staying at the forefront of new market trends and adapting to our customers’ business life cycle to encourage sustainable partnerships. Monopole now has more than 500 clients ranging from huge luxury hotels to Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore. More recently in 2016, Michael started his forage in overseas expansion into Malaysia, extending the company’s reach into bigger markets.
The company only sources from legitimate family-owned wine producers who believe in quality, provenance and the importance of environmental sustainability in viticulture. In this aspect, Michael’s ardent passion for wines shines through. After all, Monopole is a reflection of Michael’s passion and the crowning glory of the legacy he has built as a leader in the food and beverage industry in Singapore, Malaysia and beyond.
